Maroon is a native of St. Louis, MO but moved to Arizona to attend SDGA golf school. He comes from a famous roller hockey family. His older brother Phil has played PIHA for the Southside Snipers and for the Mission Snipers in NARCh Pro. Younger brother Pat has been a force at NARCh for years with Tour Blast and HomeCare America and was recently drafted by the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers. Justin played alongside his brothers for Team Missouri at State Wars in 2007 where they won the Junior AAA division. He also has experience playing for Tour Blast and HomeCare and won a Junior gold medal at the 2005 NARCh Finals. In 2006, Maroon helped St. Louis Community College take second at the NCRHA National Championships and was named to the All-Tournament Second-Team.
