#2 East Carolina Edges #9 Stony Brook

Feasterville, PA - East Carolina has been a frequent visitor to the ECRHA over the past few season and once again they rolled into town with a very talent squad.

Coming into the weekend with the #2 ranking in the country, East Carolina was perfect and after a 3-2 victory over #9 Stony Brook they remain that way.

Quinton Stallings got things started quickly scoring just 30 seconds into the contest, but Stony Brook would tie things up before the end of the first with a late goal by Justin Corbo.

Stony Brook took the lead early in the second period behind a Jamie Esperto goal but the lead didn't last long as Tyler Appel scored just 2:08 later to tie things at 2-2.

Brandon Goodwin put East Carolina ahead 3-2 just 2:58 into the third period for the final tally.

Rory Buckley made 30 saves for Stony Brook, keeping his team in striking distance, but the SeaWolves didn't have enough offense as they were outshot 33-18 on the night.

East Carolina's final game will be on Sunday against #15 Hofstra (7-4-1)
